AML Subject Matter Expert

About the role
We are looking for a hands-on AML Subject Matter Expert to help develop, implement and continuously improve our AML framework across the Group.
This is a practical, delivery-focused role for someone who can turn regulation into workable solutions, challenge existing practices and simplify processes without compromising AML effectiveness.
You will work across the business and with Group colleagues in different EU jurisdictions, while also operating as a strong individual contributor with ownership of key AML initiatives.
Key responsibilities
Develop and implement AML policies, procedures, controls and frameworks across relevant jurisdictions.
Translate regulatory requirements into practical, proportionate business solutions.
Review existing AML practices and processes, benchmark against market standards and identify opportunities to simplify, standardize and improve.
Drive AML process optimization, reducing unnecessary complexity, duplication and manual activity.
Monitor regulatory and industry developments and implement required changes.
Partner with Product, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Technology and Data teams to embed AML into processes and product development.
Use AML data and analytics to identify risks, trends, control weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
Develop AML MI, metrics and reporting for management and regulators.
Support regulatory inquiries, audits and inspections.
Design and deliver AML training and share best practice across the Group.
Identify opportunities to use technology and automation to improve AML effectiveness and efficiency.
What we are looking for
Proven AML / Financial Crime experience, ideally in consumer finance, fintech or banking.
Strong practical knowledge of AML regulations and frameworks.
Experience designing, implementing and optimizing AML processes across jurisdictions.
Ability to assess market practices and translate regulatory requirements into simple, effective and pragmatic solutions.
AML data analysis experience is highly desirable.
Experience with regulatory bodies and inquiries is an advantage.
Bachelor's degree; CAMS, ICA or equivalent is a plus.
