Learning & Talent Development Specialist
About the Role
Avarda is scaling fast, and our biggest competitive advantage is the people who make it happen; this role sits at the heart of that growth, designing the learning journeys, development frameworks, and career pathways that help our talent keep pace with the business.
You will be part of a small team working closely with senior leaders and stakeholder and People Business Partners across the bank to identify capability gaps and turn them into practical, engaging learning solutions - from onboarding through to leadership development. This isn't a "roll out a course and move on" role; it's about building a learning culture that sticks.
Reporting to our Chief People, Culture & Communications, you'll have real ownership over how Avarda invests in its people — and real visibility with stakeholders who care about the outcome.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver learning programs that build critical skills across the organization
Partner with People Business Partners and managers to diagnose development needs and translate them into learning solutions
Manage and evolve Avarda's LMS, ensuring content is current, accessible, and used
Build career development frameworks and career pathing tools for employees at all levels
Design leadership and people-manager development programs
Track and report on learning impact using clear, meaningful metrics
Curate and manage relationships with external training providers and content vendors
Ensure compliance-related training is delivered on time and meets regulatory requirements
Champion a culture of continuous learning and internal mobility across the bank
Qualifications and Experience
5+ years of experience in Talent Development, Learning & Development, or a related area
Broad understanding of key People & Culture disciplines, including talent and succession planning, performance management, and employee experience
Ability to analyze employee insights, identify organizational needs, and translate findings into actionable people initiatives
Proven experience designing and delivering learning programs end-to-end
Experience building career frameworks, competency models, or leadership development programs
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Knowledge of compliance-driven training and regulatory requirements, ideally gained within a financial services or banking environment, is a plus
You Will Be Successful If You Are
A natural connector, building trust with stakeholders at every level
Someone who thinks like a designer — starting from the learner's experience, not the content
Comfortable holding ambiguity and creating structure where none exists yet
Focused on outcomes over activity — a completed course means nothing if nobody's better at their job
Energetic and curious, always looking for a better way to do things
Able to flex between hands-on delivery and strategic program design
